After discussing with a coworker my views that blogging is self ingratiating, and doesn't really serve a purpose, I've still decided to update this for the time being, but only for practice. Someday I may have something to say. As of yet I do not really have anything worth saying, to say...to say the least.
I don't think all blogs are horrible I read a few, but a journalist/blogger exists for a reason and serves a purpose, but he/she also adheres to journalistic principles and tries to publish news in a timely manner and cover topics...essentially they have more time than I care to spend, on repurposing other people's news stories, but that is okay they serve a great purpose. I may, from time to time, as I did with the most recent post about the Australian mining mayor, do the same thing, but other than that I promise to never post anything that I have self composed, because that is ridiculous.
I spent too much time listening to all the shitty things that shitty people wrote in shitty writing classes, and the only conclusion I could come to is that, as far as creative writing goes, very few people are good enough to read, or for that matter really have anything to say worth reading. Since I don't like to read, or listen to other people read their shitty ramblings how could I possible expect someone to read mine?
I realize that by publishing this rant I'm in fact expecting someone to read my shitty rambling, but since I've only ever told 3 people this exists then it is okay. Because it exists in a negative space on the world wide web. A parking lot if you will, a parking structure (props to Alex Danger). It exists as something you may pass without noticing, or even use to park your car, but do not pay attention to as a space itself. A compost of my thoughts. Maybe someday something will sprout that doesn't smell like shit.
